According to the latest news from HITC, Premier League giants Arsenal have made contact with representatives of Argentine striker Alvarez and enquired about a move for the player. The move suggests that Arsenal are making initial tentative moves for Alvarez, although Manchester City have made it clear that they are not willing to sell the young striker this summer.
City have previously rejected transfer enquiries from Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and the Saudi side, showing how much they value Alvarez. However, Alvarez himself has expressed his dissatisfaction with his game time at City, setting the stage for a possible departure. Nonetheless, the City hierarchy are adamant that they will not let the potential starlet go this summer.
Atletico Madrid have not given up on their pursuit of Alvarez as a result of City's rejection and are still trying to push forward with transfer talks in the hope of recruiting the Argentine striker at some point in the future.
For Arsenal, they have successfully brought in players such as Jesus and Zinchenko from Manchester City, so they are no strangers to poaching from them again. Both Arsenal executives, Arteta and Edu, have expressed high admiration for Alvarez, believing that he can bring substantial improvement to the team. However, Arsenal have only made contact with Alvarez's representatives and have yet to make a formal offer to City.
According to transfer market sources, a buyer would need to send an offer of at least £70 million plus a floating fee in order to convince Manchester City to release him. That's a lot of money for any club to spend, but considering Alvarez's potential and strength, such a price might not be excessive.
