Premier League giants Chelsea FC are in advanced talks with Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid over the transfer of striker Omorodion, according to a new report from Sky Sports chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol. The two sides are said to be discussing a transfer fee of around £35 million, a figure that shows how highly Chelsea value the young striker.

Omorodion, 20, was loaned by Atletico Madrid to La Liga side Alaves last season, during which time he played 35 matches for Alaves and scored 8 goals, demonstrating his goal-scoring ability and adaptability. Although his first-team appearances at Atlético Madrid were limited, his outstanding performances during his loan spell have certainly added to his career.

Chelsea's interest in Omorodion is not empty. With the continuous adjustment and reinforcement of the team's lineup, Chelsea urgently needs to introduce fresh blood in the front line to enhance the team's offensive firepower and competitiveness. Omorodion, with its young, potential and strong immediate combat characteristics, has become one of the important targets of Chelsea's reinforcement.

However, the potential transfer deal is not without hurdles. According to reports, the willingness of the Atletico Madrid side to let go of Omorodion will largely depend on their success in bringing in another striker as a replacement. Atletico Madrid are currently in talks with Premier League giants Manchester City over the transfer of Argentine striker Alvarez, but their offer has yet to meet City's expectations, making the prospect of a transfer a confusing one.

Furthermore, Omorodion is now valued at €35 million, roughly on par with the transfer fees discussed between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid. This is further proof of his hotness and value in the transfer market.
