After Liverpool's comfortable 3-0 win over Manchester United in a friendly match last weekend, Reds goalkeeper Keleher spoke to the club's officials to share his thoughts on the game and how the team has adapted under new manager Sloter.
Speaking about Sloter's tactical arrangements for the game, Kelleher said, "Manager Sloter was very clear in telling us that even though only three days had passed since our last game against Arsenal, we couldn't afford to let up. He emphasized that it will be this high intensity tempo all season long and we need to continue the great performance against Arsenal with this game. He made it clear that even though this is pre-season, winning is still our goal and we need to be hungry for victory at all times."
Kelleher spoke highly of the great saves made by second-half substitute Jarosz: "Jarosz was excellent in the second half, making several key saves to keep the ball in the team's hands. When we were all busy on the field defending, this united atmosphere made the game much easier. I was happy to play alongside him as we both contributed to the team's victory."
Speaking about the adaptation under Slaughter, Kelleher looked confident: "Since Coach Slaughter came on board, he has brought in a lot of new ideas and tactical concepts. He wants us to adapt quickly and put them into practice. From the performance of each game, I think we are getting better and better. The overall thinking of the team is getting clearer and clearer, and everyone is working towards a common goal. Of course, we've had some tough games, but it's these challenges that have made us more united and resilient."
Finally, Kelleher expressed his anticipation for future matches, "I'm happy to have been able to participate in these matches, they provide us with valuable exercise. We need to continue to contribute to the team and prove to everyone what we are made of. I believe that under Coach Slaughter's leadership, we will get better and better and bring more exciting games to our fans."
