There is an active push to sign Olmo's replacement. The reporter says: "Leipzig are now pushing to sign Olmo's replacement, Cherky is one of their top targets, they haven't reached an agreement with the player yet but talks are ongoing."
Cherky's previous deal with Borussia Dortmund has broken down and Leipzig are currently stepping up talks with Lyon. Lyon are reported to have bid €15m plus €2m in add-ons for Cherky.
Aside from Cerci, Leipzig are also considering other more expensive options such as Eindhoven's John Bakayoko and Porto's Junior Conceição. All of these players have extremely high potential and technical ability, but Leipzig need to find a balance between their budget and team needs.
