Lee Carsley, 50, led England's U21 team to the U21 European Cup title last year, when the squad included young talents such as Palmer and Gordon. Carsley's coaching ability was widely recognized, and as a result he was selected to take over the national team on an interim basis.

England will play two key matches in the UEFA Nations League next month, away to Ireland on September 8th before hosting Finland on September 11th. These two matches will be crucial to England's performance in the UEFA Nations League, and Castlereagh's interim coaching will be an important test of his coaching ability.
