Recently, the transfer rumors about Inter Milan defender Dumfries have resurfaced. Unlike the previous report from The Athletic's David Ornstein, Sky Sport Italia's Luca Marchetti has brought a very different message. According to Luca Marchetti, Dumfries is still keen to extend his contract with Inter Milan and there is a strong will to do so between the two sides.

Prior to this, David Ornstein had reported that Dumfries' current contract is set to expire in June next year and that he himself does not want to negotiate an extension with Inter Milan before the summer window closes. Furthermore, the journalist has also stated that joining Manchester United would be an attractive option for Dumfries. However, the latest report from Luca Marchetti puts a question mark on this rumor.

Luca Marchetti made it clear on Sky Sport Italia: "In England they write a lot about Manchester United's interest in Dumfries. But the reality is that Inter Milan just met with Dumfries' agent yesterday (Monday) and are actively pushing for a contract extension. At the moment, it seems that both Inter Milan and Dumfries himself want to continue working together."

The news has certainly brought a small measure of comfort to Inter fans. Dumfries has been in the spotlight for his performance as a key member of the team. If he can successfully extend his contract with Inter, it will be a positive sign for the team's stability and fighting strength.
