Searle United are in talks with Crystal Palace over the signing of central defender Mark

Guey

In-depth negotiations are underway for a deal that could reach £65m. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are assessing alternatives to Gueye's departure, including Chelsea defender Trevor

Chalobah

Significant progress has been made in transfer talks for Gueye and an agreement is expected to be reached early next week. With Ollis moving to Bayern, Crystal Palace are struggling to keep their best players for the new season. However, Crystal Palace are also facing strong interest from top teams for their players. Gueye will enter the final year of his contract next summer and Crystal Palace want to avoid the risk of him leaving on a free in the summer of 2026.

Crystal Palace will need to bring in a new center back if Gueye moves to Newcastle. Chalobah is one of the many options they are considering, another player being looked at is Wolfsburg's Maxime Lacroix. Chalobah comes from the Chelsea youth system and will remain in London if he moves to Crystal Palace.

Additionally, Crystal Palace midfielder Eze has come under scrutiny from a number of the Premier League's top teams, including Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. Eze has a £60 million release clause in his contract, a fee that could rise to £68 million depending on conditions. Crystal Palace are looking to get cash back straight away and are unlikely to accept an offer that includes a player swap.
