After joining promoted Serie A side Como in the summer transfer window, striker Belotti spoke exclusively to Sky Sports to share his reasons for choosing Como, his outlook on the team's future and his personal goals.
Speaking about his decision to join Como, Belotti expressed his deep interest and gratitude for the club. "I came here with great enthusiasm, Como were keen to have me on board from the end of last season and they showed a strong and eager interest which gave me the warm feeling of being valued." He emphasized that it is crucial for a player to feel the trust and support of the club, which was a big reason why he finally decided to join Como.
Speaking about his new teammates, Belotti expressed his high appreciation for Como's recruitment strategy. "Cesc Fabregas, who has just retired, is a legend in the history of soccer, and being able to work with seniors like him will undoubtedly provide us with valuable experience and insight." He continued, "And the addition of strong reinforcements such as Varane, Alberto Moreno and Reina has given the team a significant boost. Their arrival not only enhances the depth of the squad, but also shows us the club's strong determination for the future."
As for the Como's prospects in Serie A, Belotti showed a strong sense of self-belief and fighting spirit. "Our mentality is to fight for victory in every game, which is the belief that the coaching team has always instilled in us." He admitted that although Como may face many challenges and difficulties as a promoted team, they will never give up easily. "We may not be experienced enough, but we will make up for those shortcomings with our passion and belief. We want to bring trouble to every opponent and let everyone know that Team Como is a force to be reckoned with."
Finally, Belotti also talked about his personal goals. "My first priority is to help the team win more games, which is the most basic duty as a player." He said that while individual accolades are also important, he values the success of the team more.
