The latest report from French media outlet Footmercato reveals the setbacks suffered by Marseille FC in the process of introducing Lens striker Wahi. Marseille have made two consecutive offers to Lens, but have failed to impress the other side, Lens side of the psychological price of Wahi set between 30 million and 35 million euros.

Although the Lens club wants to sell Wahi due to financial pressures, they are adamant that they will not accept a loan deal, and instead want to receive a significant amount of revenue directly through a transfer. This stance has made it challenging for Marseille to negotiate, and although Marseille have indicated that they are willing to continue to increase their offer, it remains unclear whether the two sides will be able to reach an agreement on the matter.

Notably, Wahi's impressive performances have attracted the attention of several European giants. Apart from Marseille, clubs such as Chelsea, West Ham United and Leicester City have also shown keen interest in the 21-year-old striker. Last season, Wahi had an outstanding season with Lens, making 36 appearances, scoring 12 goals and dishing out 4 assists, a statistic that has undoubtedly earned him more attention and recognition.

With the transfer market becoming increasingly competitive, Wahi's future destination has become even more confusing. For Marseille, they need to increase their offer while taking into account the competitive pressure from other potential buyers. For Wahi himself, he will need to choose between a number of suitors and find a club that can satisfy his career development needs while offering him the chance to play on a consistent basis.
