The Premier League has officially announced that Chelsea midfielder Golpenma has been voted Young Player of the Season.The 22 year old England international became an immediate starter for Chelsea after moving from Manchester City last summer. He scored 22 goals and 10 assists in 32 games this season, an honor he definitely deserves.
The Premier League's Best Young Player Award is presented for the best seasonal performance by a player under the age of 23. Since the inception of the 2019/20 season, the last three editions have gone to City players, including Phil Cotton twice, with the last winner being Einin Shalant, with Galpenma breaking the monopoly of his parent club.
Earlier, Galpenma also won the Premier League Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards for April.
