A few weeks ago, Villa could have been very competitive against Liverpool, with one team fighting for a Europa League spot and the other for the Premier League title. However, due to the recent results of both teams, it looks like both teams will finish the season in their current league positions.

For the first time since a couple of seasons, Liverpool find themselves with nothing to compete with at the end of the season, but the disappointing end to the season shouldn't overshadow the wonderful journey Gopper and Liverpool have had.

Despite the journey coming to an end, what a great time it has been for Gopper himself and the club. To be honest, it's sad to see Gopp leave the team as I think he's quite iconic for the Premier League and Liverpool.

Similar to Liverpool, Ashton Villa didn't have much of a competitive taste in their final two games at the end of the season as the Europa League was knocked out of fourth place in midweek. Villa are able to look back angrily at how positive the season has been and look forward to the next exciting time at Villa Park.

In embarking on a new journey for next season with leader Aymari, I think this will be the start of a new era for Villa.

As far as battles go, it will be hard for Villa to pick himself up immediately after this week's loss, and when he knows that Tottenham will have to beat City to have any chance of catching them, he can predict that they will inadvertently lose the battle, and so Liverpool will win the guest of honor.
