Club. Kok Tin Yu signed as a free agent and will wear the No. 18 jersey for Chiang Rai United in the upcoming 2024/25 season.
Born on March 5, 1999, Guo Tianyu is a 192 cm tall striker. He started his career in the Shandong Taishan youth training system and has been loaned out to Wuhan Zall and Portuguese club Vizela. He has also played for China's national team at U16 level and above, but has yet to represent the adult national team.
Guo Tianyu's career has had its ups and downs; in 2022 he was loaned out to Portuguese Super League side Vizela and made his Portuguese Premier League debut in April of the same year. However, in 2023, he was disqualified from the Chinese Super League by Shandong Taishan due to gambling issues, and his contract expired in July 2023 without being renewed. Guo Tianyu was also arrested and served a prison sentence for his involvement in a match-fixing incident, before returning to the public eye after his release in May this year.
Chiang Rai United will be looking to improve their performance in the Thai Premier League in the new season. Chiang Rai United, who finished 11th in the Thai Premier League last season, will play their first match of the season on August 12, and the addition of Kuo Tianyu will add new strength to the team's front line.
