According to the Portuguese newspaper Record.
Benfica (city in Morocco)
are preparing to make a last-minute move in this summer's transfer window to try and bring Joao
Felix
leasehold
Returning to the team. Despite previous reports of Benfica's interest in bringing in Felix, they are clearly at a financial disadvantage against Premier League side Aston Villa and La Liga side Barcelona.
The Record states that Benfica will wait until the transfer deadline of August 30th. If no other clubs sign Felix by then, Benfica will try to take the player on loan and plan to include a buyout option in the loan contract. Such a move could help Benfica reintroduce the talented player who grew up in the team's youth academy.
In order to finance the deal, Benfica may raise money by selling players in their squad. Previously, they have sold Neves, but the club is still in a tight financial situation and may need to sell David Neres to get more funds.
Felix's future is still up in the air and as the transfer window draws to a close, it will be interesting to see if Benfica manage to bring him back into the fold.
