The performance was outstanding, winning the gold medal with excellent strength and breaking the Olympic records of snatch, clean and jerk and total, adding another gold for the Chinese delegation.
In the snatch, Luo Shifang used 101kg as the opening weight and completed it easily. She then raised the weight to 105kg and succeeded again. On her third attempt, she chose to challenge 107kg and lifted it steadily, breaking the Olympic record and leading all the competitors, and finishing the snatch competition in first place with a score of 107kg.
In the clean and jerk, Luo Shifang also showed great strength. Her opening weight was 129 kilograms, and she passed easily. She then raised the weight to 134 kilograms and successfully completed the attempt again, by which time she had already broken the Olympic records in the clean and jerk and the total. The suspense of the competition had been revealed early with the failure of Chinese Taipei's Guo Hsing-chun in her third attempt at 137 kilograms. Luo Shifang chose to skip the third attempt and won the gold medal with an absolute advantage.
This is the 3rd gold medal for the Chinese delegation in weightlifting at this year's Paris Olympics, and also the 28th gold medal for the Chinese team at this year's Olympics. Luo Shifang's outstanding performance not only added honor to Chinese sports, but also further consolidated the leading position of Chinese weightlifting in the world.
Canada's Maude Sharon won the silver medal, while Chinese Taipei's Kuo won the bronze. Luo Shifang's brilliant performance will be forever etched in Olympic history.
