According to a new report from GIVEMESPORT, Manchester United have reached a stalemate over the transfer of De Ligt and could abandon plans to bring in the Dutch international as a result. At the heart of the decision is a huge disagreement between United and Bayern over the transfer fee, with United refusing to meet Bayern's £43million asking price.

For their part, Manchester United believe that they have offered a very reasonable price for De Ligt - £30 million - a valuation based on a number of considerations. Firstly, United believe that De Ligt is not an absolute key player in new manager Vincent Kompany's plans, and are therefore unwilling to pay an exorbitant transfer fee for him. Secondly, United also understand that Bayern are looking to reduce their salary burden by selling De Ligt, which further strengthens United's stance on price.

It's worth noting that Manchester United have had a similar experience before. When Paris Saint-Germain insisted on a high price and did not budge on the transfer of Ugarte, Manchester United decisively gave up the plan to introduce the midfielder. This time around, United have shown the same determination and principles when it comes to the De Ligt deal, and are prepared to give up on their preferred target once again if they are unable to reach a compromise with Bayern on the transfer fee.

De Ligt isn't getting a lot of attention from other teams at the moment, which has somewhat affected his transfer price. Manchester United are confident that their valuation is reasonable and are willing to stick to that position until the end. However, this also makes Delicte's transfer prospects become confusing, whether he can successfully join United or join other teams, have become the focus of attention of the fans.
