Renowned transfer journalist Romano has revealed that Premier League promotion rivals Nottingham Forest have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Porto's Brazilian striker Galeno. Although they have submitted a formal offer to Porto, the offer did not meet Porto's expectations and was therefore rejected by Porto. However, Nottingham Forest have not given up and are still interested in the 26-year-old Brazilian striker.

Porto's asking price for Galeano is said to be as high as €40 million with a floating clause, which far exceeds Galeano's current valuation in the German transfer market (€25 million). This high price reflects Porto's high regard for Galeano and his importance in the team. Galeano's contract with Porto expires in the summer of 2028, so Porto are in a relatively active position in the negotiations.

It's worth noting that Galeano is not the only suitor for Nottingham Forest. Serie A giants Juventus also have him on their list of winger attractions, but Juventus are currently focused on negotiating a deal with Fiorentina for Nicolas Gonzalez, which could somewhat affect the progress of their pursuit of Galeano.

For Nottingham Forest, how to accomplish quality reinforcements within a limited budget is a big challenge for them. The addition of Galeno will undoubtedly greatly enhance the team's attacking strength, but the high transfer fee also makes them have to consider carefully. In the coming days, whether the two sides will continue the negotiation and whether there will be new buyers to join the competition will be the focus of fans' attention.
