Former Liverpool defender Carragher has recently expressed his concerns about the team's midfield configuration. He pointed out that during Klopp's reign, Liverpool's midfield tended to be known for its toughness and running, but since Sloter's arrival, the team seems to favor a more technical style of play, which has changed the team's midfield style to some extent.

Carragher believes that while Sloter may prefer technical players as a Dutch coach, Liverpool's current midfield setup is under-energized. He singled out McAllister, Koh Endo and Elliott, a trio of midfielders from the end of last season, as players who, while not bad, lacked in terms of running and physical confrontation.

"Liverpool's midfield is definitely lacking in dynamism as well as players who can make runs." Carragher said bluntly, "Their midfield combination in the final stages of last season, while strong, left something to be desired in terms of protecting the back line and providing attacking support."

Carragher has expressed his expectations on whether Liverpool will make midfield reinforcements this summer. He believes that the team needs to bring in the kind of players who are both physically capable of combating and energizing the midfield to make up for the deficiencies in the current lineup.

"I don't know if Liverpool will bring in reinforcements in the midfield, but they do lack the kind of players in the midfield who are physical, dynamic and who can protect the back line." Carragher said, "Such players can bring more options and variations to the team and make Liverpool's midfield more comprehensive and stronger."
