Manchester United are reportedly planning to do a massive clean-up and sell a number of players this summer, with striker Rashford among the top candidates facing a sale. However, a 26-year-old England international has refused to leave the team, according to British media reports. If the club forces a sale, he will demand compensation for the remaining £70 million (about HK$690 million) of his total wages.

Lashford played 56 games last season and scored 30 goals, but after his contract extension, his performances have seriously gone off the rails. He has scored just eight goals in 40 games this season. United's new shareholder Ratcliffe is reportedly set to meet with Foo to find out the final issue, and despite 'Lord La' initially wanting Rashford to stay in the team, there are variables as to whether or not he will be sold.

Lashford will not leave the team unless the Conference compensates for the remaining wages on his contract, which is due to expire in 2028, with £70 million remaining, sources said.

This is not the first time this has happened. Manchester United intended to sell center-half Harry Magouni last summer. Rumor has it that the guard made a condition to leave the team at that time and asked the club to pay the total salary of £20 million (about HK$196 million) for the rest of the contract. In the end, Magouni stayed with the team and Rashford seems to want to learn something.
