The Chinese women's boxing team has once again written a brilliant chapter in the boxing arena of Roland Garros Stadium. On August 10, Beijing time, Roland Garros Stadium witnessed China's
Wu Yue
Brilliant moment in the women's 50kg final. She defeated Turkey's Cakiroglu 4-1 to pick up her second title for the Chinese women's boxing team
silver medal
The Chinese team also contributed the 33rd gold medal to the Chinese delegation at this year's Olympics.
Wu Yu showed great athletic strength in her Olympic journey. She first defeated India's Nikat and Thailand's Rasha by two 5-0 margins, and then beat Kazakhstan's Kezaybay 4-1 in the semifinals, and went all the way to meet Turkey's Kakiroglu in the final. Cakiroglu was also in fine form in the semifinals, knocking out the Philippines' Vijales 5-0.
In the final, Wu Yu, the No.1 seed of the tournament, showed an aggressive attitude from the beginning of the match, as she continuously closed the distance with Kakiroglu and launched fierce attacks. In the first round, Wu Yu's continuous attacks forced Kakiroglu to lose balance in her footwork and even fell down at one point. In the end, four judges unanimously ruled in favor of Wu Yu, with only one judge supporting Kakiroglu, and Wu Yu successfully won the first round.
In the second round, Kakiroglu tried to fight back, but Wu Yu's defense was as good as her counterattacks, as she switched between attack and defense with ease, and used the strategy of baiting the enemy to win the round once again with a score of 4-1, further consolidating her lead.
In the final round, the tension in the fight reached its peak. Kakiroglu suffered from a loose helmet at the beginning of the round, but this did not deter the two fighters from attacking each other fiercely, and even pushed the fight to the brink of getting out of control at one point. Wu Yu searched for counter-attacking opportunities in her defense, and although she was warned by the referee for hitting the back of Kakiroglu's head in the latter part of the round, she quickly adjusted her strategy and finished the fight with solid defense. In the end, Wu Yu beat Kakiroglu 4-1, adding another gold medal for the Chinese women's boxing team in this year's Olympics, and now the Chinese women's boxing team has won two gold medals and one silver medal in the Paris Olympics.
