According to the Daily Telegraph, Ewarton swallowed six eggs in the Premier League, making it the biggest defeat in leader Dyche Coach Poe's 531-game career. The house leaked, it rained all night and the team faced another points deduction. "Drag Fat Sugar" cannot repay a loan of HK$160 million (about HK$1.56 billion) and will be fined points by the Premier League in the event of a default, further deepening the relegation crisis.

At one point, Ewarton was heavily penalized with a 10-point deduction for breaching the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules, and was docked 6 points on appeal. However, he was immediately docked 2 points for another financial offense, in other words, he was docked 8 points.

The nightmare for Ewarton is not over yet. The club reportedly owes £160 million in loan arrears, which will be difficult to pay back on time due to the club's current financial situation. It could go into receivership and face a points deduction from the Premier League. Ewarton are currently two points ahead of bottom three Luton and despite playing one game, another points deduction could well see them drop into the relegation zone.

Ewarton class president Mo Schooley said he would do his best to avoid a default and would not rule out injecting money into the club or asking a new buyer to take over.
