Newcastle won 4-3 at home to Westham on Saturday night (30th) in the Premier League's Easter morning match. The Magpies, who have serious injury problems, were fortunate to have Aleksandar Ishaq's equalizer from 12 yards and Harvey Bennis' late winner. Despite leading 3-1 at one point, the Magpies lost 3-4 in dramatic fashion.
Newcastle were awarded a 12-yard penalty with six minutes to go to give Alexandria Ishaq a 1-0 lead, but then an injury to captain Backbone Hughes and a porous defense led to multiple losses.
"The 'Hammer Boy' Wessex man had his feet intact. Even if he lost the wave first, he wasn't afraid. 21 minutes later, he chased a draw with a Michali Antonio slash. Gudas contributed after 10 minutes of extra time in the half. It was 2-1 at half-time over before Chalo Pao-yun went over three minutes into the second half. Westham won 3-1 and the winning wave was just around the corner.
However, Newcastle didn't give up in desperation and switched to Havibanis, Westham switched again to Havibanis 'loser boy' Gavin Filas and the two mobilized time and time again and Newcastle definitely survived. Gavin Ferrars lost 12 yards in 77 minutes as Alexandra Ishak chased 2-3, then Harvey Bennis beat his team 3-3 in 83 minutes which boiled the whole game.
In the 90th minute, Harvey Bennis scored a world wave from the top of the penalty area to put Newcastle back in front 4-3, then Anthony Gordon was expelled after receiving a red card, Newcastle defended to the end of the match with 10 men, and eventually narrowly won against Westham to take all 3 points.
