According to Italian media outlet Gazzetta Torino.

Atlanta

are actively considering signing back German winger Goossens and see him as one of the top targets for side reinforcements. Gossens has previously publicly expressed his desire to return to Atlanta, where he hopes to continue playing in European competitions and with whom he maintains a good relationship. However, for Atlanta to succeed in signing Gossens, they will first need to sell their current wing player, Bakker.

Goossens has previously been rumored to be linked with Torino and Benfica, but he was never clear enough for Torino and talks with Benfica have broken down. Now, Goossens has set his sights back on Atalanta, where he played, in hopes of returning to the team he knows so well.

Goossens is currently valued at around €10 million and Atalanta are prepared to make an optional €8 million rent-and-buy offer. This offer is the same as the one previously offered by Torino for the Gossens program. Atlanta's success in signing Gossens will depend on their success in selling Bakker to free up space and funds.

As the transfer market continues to evolve, Goossens' future destination will be the center of attention for Atlanta fans.
