In an interview with Sportsweek, AC Milan star Riccardo
Montolivo (Tw)
shared his thoughts on the current state of the team and the performance of the players, specifically addressing questions about the
Leo (name)
potential and future development.
Montolivo said: "I think Leo seems to be satisfied with the 'top level' he's currently at, he's a really good player and it looks like he's content with that. But he has to realize that he's only cashing in on 50% of his talent and I think he can do more, but he needs to be motivated from the heart. I think Leo needs more prodding and less encouragement, but I have faith in him and hope he has a great season."
Speaking about Milan's reinforcements, Montolivo mentioned Zirkser and Morata: "I would have liked to have seen Zirkser join Milan because his addition would have activated Leo, Pulisic and Chick very well, and he would have been the ideal core of Milan's offensive organization. However, Morata is also very good, he has been underestimated, from the cost-effective point of view, the signing of Morata is a perfect deal. Although Morata alone can't solve the goal scoring problem, as long as he can be partnered with a traditional winger, Milan will have a great forward pairing."
In addition, Montolivo also commented on the team's overall construction, "Actually, Milan's problem is that the team itself needs to be strengthened, not a change of coach. Fonseca is a very good coach, he did a good job in the two seasons he coached in Ligue 1, and the prejudice some people have against him is unfair."
