The 19-year-old winger of the
Douai
Decided to join
Paris, capital of France
Saint-Germain, a choice that left Bayern Munich disappointed. Bayern had previously dominated this transfer race, but Douai ended up choosing Paris.
Reports suggest that the transfer deal is highly likely to go through despite talks between Paris and Rennes not yet reaching a full agreement. Douai would become the second player to reject Bayern this summer after Javi Simmons.
Bayern, for their part, have been extremely frustrated by the decision of Doué, who had hoped to sign the promising French winger through a number of negotiations and contacts. Doué, who is under contract with Rennes until 2026, had a solid season in Ligue 1 last season, making 31 appearances and contributing four goals and five assists, and is currently valued at €30 million in the German transfer market.
This loss for Bayern means they will need to reassess their strategy for the summer transfer window and look for other suitable additions.
