Deprived of a score adjustment dispute due to

bronze medal

, Romania's Ana Barbosu thus regained third-place honors.

In the women's free gymnastics final, Romania's Ana Barbosu was in third place with a score of 13.700 and was expected to win the bronze medal. However, the U.S. team appealed the difficulty score and managed to raise Jordan Chilis' score from 13.666 to 13.766, allowing her to come from behind and take the bronze medal position.

Faced with this controversy, the Romanian Gymnastics Federation filed a complaint with the International Court of Arbitration for Sport. The International Court of Arbitration for Sport issued its ruling on Saturday, finding that the U.S. team's appeal exceeded the one-minute time limit allowed by the FIG, that the appeal was filed 1:04 after the scores were announced, and that the initial competition standings should therefore be reinstated.

In an official statement, the IOC confirmed that it had reawarded the bronze medal to Romania's Ana Barbosu and had begun contacting the Romanian Olympic Committee to discuss arrangements for the medal redistribution ceremony. The IOC will also be in contact with the USOC to discuss the return of the bronze medal.

This decision not only reflects the fairness of sports competition, but also emphasizes the importance of rules. Anna Barbosu's re-award is a just recognition of her outstanding performance and a reminder to all participants and teams that adherence to the rules of the game is the cornerstone of participation in sports competition.
