In a recent interview with Sport Week, former AC Milan captain Montolivo gave his insight on a number of topics regarding the team. In particular, he mentioned the potential and current status of young winger Léo, arguing that although Léo has shown great ability, he seems to be content with the status quo and is only realizing half of his potential. Montolivo emphasized that Léo needs more self-promotion and motivation in order to break through his current achievements and reach a higher level of competition.

Speaking about Milan's candidates for the center forward position, Montolivo expressed his regret that Zilkidze was not able to join the team, believing that he could have been an important catalyst for the team's attacking end, facilitating the play of players such as Leo, Pulisic and Loftus-Cheek. However, he also recognized the addition of Morata, believing that the underrated player was an ideal attraction in terms of value for money. Montolivo noted that Morata, while not the type to solve the goal-scoring problem on his own, would form a highly complementary forward pairing if paired with a traditional center forward.

In addition, Montolivo also commented on AC Milan's coaching problems. He believes that the core problem the team is facing is not the coaching change, but the improvement of the team's overall strength. He emphasized that Fonseca is a coach who has performed well in the French league, and the outside world's prejudice against him is not fair. Montolivo said that Fonseca needs time to adapt to Milan's environment and lead the team to success.
