Manchester United are said to be planning to hire England national team coach Huevoski to replace Tanhag as the new Red Devils captain this summer. The 53-year-old coach responded for the first time by saying that any rumors are disrespectful to United's current captain, Tannhäuser. As a result, he will not reveal his whereabouts until after this summer's Europa League, which doesn't seem to rule out a move away from the 'Devils'.
At a press conference on the eve of England's warm-up match against Brazil, Shofki was asked about rumors of coaching Manchester United and said, "I'm the England captain. Basically, I have one job and that is to try and win the European Championship. Before that, I have an important warm-up game. Manchester United now have a captain and any rumors are respected."
Shovki's current contract expires this December. It is widely believed that the outcome of this year's Europa League will be key in deciding to stay. According to reports, if Manchester United hire the Shoufki leader this summer, they will only need to spend £800,000 (about HK$7.9 million) for the rest of his contract.
