According to a new report from Relevo, Real Sociedad midfield heartthrob Martin Subbimendi made a surprising decision when faced with a lucrative offer from Premier League giants Liverpool - he turned down the offer which could have seen him move to Anfield, opting to remain with his hometown side Real Sociedad.

As a key member of the Spanish national team that recently won the UEFA Europa League, Subbimendi's outstanding performance has naturally attracted the attention of many of Europe's top clubs. Liverpool, a traditional powerhouse in the Premier League, has shown great interest in the young and talented midfielder and is ready to pay the 60 million euro release fee stipulated in his contract in order to recruit him.

However, despite facing a huge temptation from the Premier League, Subbimendi eventually decided to stick with Real Sociedad. This decision undoubtedly surprised many fans and pundits, but it also showed his loyalty to the team and his love for his hometown soccer.

Subbimendi, 25, has been assessed at a current market value of €50 million, which is a testament to his potential and value in European football. Last season, he played a pivotal role in the Real Sociedad team, making a total of 45 appearances for the team in various tournaments, of which 41 were starts, and contributing four goals and one assist. These statistics not only reflect his consistency and contribution on the field, but also further prove his status as the core of the team.

With Subi Mendy staying in the team, Real Sociedad will undoubtedly have a more stable midfield core in the new season, and is expected to continue to achieve good results in all competitions. As for Liverpool, they may need to reconsider their reinforcement plan and look for other suitable midfielders to strengthen the team.
