According to a report by renowned journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic, Liverpool Football Club has finally failed to sign Spanish midfielder Martin Subbimendi after a lot of hard work. Previously, Liverpool showed strong interest in the Real Sociedad midfielder and thought he was open to a move, so they actively launched a recruitment drive. However, Subbimendi ultimately decided to stay at Real Sociedad, a decision that dashed Liverpool's hopes of signing him.

Subbimendi's contract reportedly contains a release clause of up to €60 million, a hefty fee that has become a major obstacle to Liverpool signing him. While Liverpool may be willing to pay a hefty transfer fee for the young and talented midfielder, the requirement to pay the full amount of the release clause clearly makes the deal more complicated and difficult.

After learning of Subbimendi's decision, Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes showed reason and calmness. He announced that in view of the current situation, Liverpool will temporarily stop looking for a replacement for Subbimendi. This decision shows that Liverpool has a clear planning and strategy on the issue of reinforcement, they will not blindly pursue a certain player, but will make reasonable choices according to the actual needs of the team and the financial situation.
