The club officially announced that the team has successfully signed 25-year-old Dutch center back Mateusz Driecht from Bayern Munich. The two sides signed a six-year contract until 2029 with a one-year extension option. Driecht will wear the No. 4 jersey at United.

As previously reported by renowned transfer expert Romano, United will pay in three installments for the deal, totaling a fixed transfer fee of €45 million plus a €5 million floating clause of up to €50 million.

Drieght is a 25-year-old, 1 meter 89 tall, Dutch-born center back who is usually right-footed. Driecht started his career in the Ajax youth academy and quickly rose to prominence.He joined Juventus in the summer window of 2019 for a transfer fee of €85.5 million and became a hot young center back at the time. During his time at Juve, he played 117 games for the team, contributing 8 goals and 3 assists, helping the team win 1 Serie A title, 1 Coppa Italia title, and 1 Italian Super Cup title.

In the summer window of 2022, Drieht joined Bayern Munich from Juve for a transfer fee of €67 million. In his two seasons with Bayern, he played 73 matches, contributing 5 goals and 2 assists, helping the team win 1 Bundesliga title and 1 German Super Cup. Last season, he played 30 matches for Bayern, contributing 2 goals and 1 assist.

At the national team level, Drieght has played 45 games for the Dutch national team. However, he failed to get a chance to play at this year's Euros, sitting on the bench for the entire tournament.
