According to Spanish media outlet Marca, Real Madrid star Vinicius has rejected an astronomical five-year contract from Saudi Arabia's Jeddah National FC totaling a whopping 1 billion euros. The contract is considered to be the biggest contract offer in the history of soccer, however, Vinicius chose to stay at Real Madrid and continue his career.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid FC also rejected a transfer fee of hundreds of millions of euros offered by the Saudi side. It is reported that Saudi Arabia's Jeddah National Club not only wants to introduce Vinicius, but also intends to make him an ambassador for the 2034 Saudi Arabia World Cup, thus greatly enhancing the international image of Saudi Arabia's soccer. Several Saudi media confirmed that Jeddah National is willing to do whatever it takes to take Vinicius away from Real Madrid.
The Saudi League has attracted global attention this summer, especially from the big four - Jeddah National, Jeddah United, Riyadh Victory and Riyadh Crescent. However, any new signings will have to be made within the clubs' existing budgets as the Saudi Investment Fund has informed the four clubs that there are no additional available funds this year, making Jeddah National's reinforcement program more difficult.
In Real Madrid's latest training session, Vinicius got along well with Bellingham and Mbappe, showing the harmony within the team. Vinicius remains a core player in manager Carlo Ancelotti's system and Real Madrid have no intention of dropping him.
While the transfer market remains open, Saudi Arabia are not the only potential threat. Premier League giants Manchester City are also keeping a close eye on Vinicius, with Pep Guardiola's side likely to try and poach him before the transfer window closes. However, Real Madrid's firm stance on Vinicius suggests that they will do everything in their power to retain the young Brazilian talent.
