Former Arsenal star Patrick Vieira Petit made a bold prediction for the upcoming new Premier League season in a recent interview. He firmly believes that Arsenal will emerge as the Premier League champions in the new season, while defending champions Manchester City face multiple challenges like never before.

Petit began by pointing out the predicament that City are currently in, suggesting that they could be in for a lot of uncertainty in the new season. "City are facing too many problems," he said bluntly, "They are carrying a heavy financial burden, which makes the team may be somewhat limited in the transfer market. In addition, the futures of De Bruyne and Guardiola are in doubt, and all these uncertainties could have an impact on the stability of the team."

Despite admitting that City are still a tough team to beat, Petit believes that this season City are no longer the same invincible champions they were before. "City are indeed strong, but I don't think they can dominate the Premier League this season as easily as before." He said as follows.

In contrast, Petit is confident about Arsenal's prospects. "I believe Arsenal will win the Premier League title in the new season," he said firmly, "Arsenal showed great competitiveness last season and they almost touched the trophy. Now, their target is even clearer to become the Premier League champions. Moreover, the team's dressing room and club atmosphere are very good and everyone is working in the same direction."

Petit also singled out Arsenal's performances over the past two seasons, arguing that they have been giving more than 100 percent to win the title. "If you want to compete with a strong team like Manchester City, you have to be on your toes all the time and give more effort than your opponents." He said, "Arsenal have done that and they are making steady progress towards the title."
