The midfielder, who has twice represented the German national team in Dahout, has announced that he will represent his birthplace, Syria, and was immediately named to Syria's newest army roster, which will face Myanmar next week outside the world.

The 28-year-old Dahut was selected for the German national team in 2020 and has played two warm-up matches. The former Dormont star joined Brighton before the season but was loaned out to Stuttgart after a lackluster performance. Dahut announced last week that he had accepted an invitation from the Syrian FA, and is expected to make his debut at home to Myanmar next week.

A statement from the Syrian FA noted that Dahout will miss Sunday's (21st) visit to Myanmar due to family reasons, but he will await his fate next Wednesday (27th) when he plays Myanmar at home.
