After approaching several coaches, the U.S. Soccer Federation finally selected the renowned coach who has coached Spaniards, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain. Pochettino expressed his approval of the U.S. proposal and program and agreed to take on the head coaching position. According to reports in the U.S. media, the agreement was reached quickly overnight.

Pochettino, 52, is renowned in international soccer for his tactical acumen and ability to develop young players. He took over Premier League giants Chelsea in July 2023 and has compiled a record of 27 wins, 10 draws and 14 losses in 51 matches.
