abbr. for Saudi Arabia
Arabia recently unveiled an ambitious mega sports
Venue Construction Program
. Under this plan, Saudi Arabia will build 15 modern stadiums across the country to host all World Cup matches. Each of these stadiums will have a capacity of 45,000 seats or more for World Cup matches.
Eight stadiums will be built in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to be the main venue for this World Cup event. In addition, four stadiums will be built in Jeddah to share some of the events. Most notably, Saudi Arabia is planning the New Future City project on the Red Sea coast, which includes a 46,000-seat high-altitude stadium expected to be built at a height of more than three hundred meters above the ground. The stadium will not only be one of the venues for the World Cup, but is also expected by the Saudis to be one of the most iconic landmarks in the world.
The construction plan demonstrates Saudi Arabia's determination and ambition to host the 2034 World Cup, as well as its desire to raise the country's profile and take a more prominent position on the global sports stage through the global event.
