Marseille, city in south France
A loan offer made has been rejected by Dort. Mukoko's high salary has become a major problem for his departure, hindering interest from other potential underlings.
Marseille previously offered a loan fee of €500,000 and a buyout option of €10 million, but the offer failed to meet Dortmund's demands and was rejected. Mukoko is currently contracted to earn up to €8.5 million a year, a figure that is a significant burden for many clubs and has deterred them from bringing him in.
Nonetheless, Borussia Dortmund have indicated that they are willing to slightly reduce Mukoko's mandatory buyout fee of around €15 million if the loan package is suitable. However, no club other than Marseille have expressed specific interest in Mukoko yet.
It is worth noting that a conversation between Dortmund boss Shaheen and Mukoko has yet to be initiated, leaving Mukoko's future uncertain.
