According to the latest report from trusted soccer transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on social media, the transfer negotiations between Charlotte FC of Major League Soccer (MLS) and English Premier League powerhouse Newcastle United FC for Argentine midfielder Miguel Almiron have officially broken down. Romano stated that although the two clubs reached a preliminary agreement on the basic terms of the contract in the early stages of the negotiations, the highly anticipated transfer failed to materialize due to the harsh terms of the deal proposed by Newcastle, which were far beyond the reach of Charlotte FC.

Almiron, 30, is known for his all-round skills and relentless running on the field, and is currently valued in the market at a whopping €20 million. Last season, he made a total of 45 appearances in all competitions as a key member of Newcastle United, including 29 starts, and although the number of goals (5) and assists (3) may not seem very impressive, his important role in the team's tactical system and contribution to the game is clear for all to see.

The failure of this transfer has undoubtedly disappointed fans who were expecting Almiron to land in MLS. However, it also highlights once again the complexity and enormity of the interest game between clubs in the modern soccer transfer market. For Charlotte FC, they may need to continue to look for other suitable reinforcement targets to strengthen the team; while for Newcastle United, how to balance the team lineup and financial health will be the next issue they need to focus on.
