Chelsea beat Newcastle 3-2 at home in the early hours of Tuesday morning (12), with midfielder Golpenma the star of the show. Chelsea opened the scoring six minutes into the match, with a long range shot from Golpenma and a shot from Nicolas Jaesungardo into the net. Newcastle were not to be outdone, and equalized late in the first half with a beautiful shot from Aleksandar Ishak. After the change of sides, Galpenma took another shot from long range and managed to get into the net to help Lukas take the lead. A solo effort from Medillieu twisted past the keeper and into the empty net to make it 3-1. Newcastle chased down a goal in the dying seconds with Jaeger and Mephieu's powerful shot into the net, but it was too little too late, and they lost their second consecutive Premier League away match, with injuries to striker Anthony Gorton and defender Dan Bon Bon.
Chelsea have improved in their last four Premier League matches with two wins and two draws, including the match against Manchester City, but leader Pudjetjenu wasn't happy with the defensive performance: "The attacking players are getting more confident, but they are disappointed to lose two goals because both mistakes should not have happened. After learning the lesson, I will become more mature and need to keep working hard." As for Galpenma, he even threatened that Chelsea will have a chance to win the next European Championships.
