Ashton Villa released their financial report for the previous year, losing £119.6 million (about $1.196 billion). In order to meet the financial regulations of the Premier League, the main players will be sold this summer, and Lance and Douglas Reyes may leave the team.
While Villa had made a profit of £300,000 the year before on very little revenue, performances improved significantly thanks to the Amery coaching, seventh in the Premier League last season, from the European battlefields, and in the European Confederation group stage this season, increasing the club's revenues to £217.7million (about HK$2,177million) but costs also rose, to £119.6million after tax.
Under the Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rule, the Villa statement says the ball will run, in line with the strategic business plan. In addition, Villa are now in the top four of the league and are in with a chance of securing Europa League tickets, which will further increase revenues.
However, the team must now comply with Premier League financial regulations and a major cash sale is likely. Newcastle have reportedly amassed Lance, while Arsenal like Douglas Reyes. Both starters could leave the team this summer.
