English league champions Liverpool have just been released. The English soccer team continued their strong run in the fifth round in the early hours of Thursday morning (29th), beating Champions League side Southampton 3-0 at home to advance to the top eight. Gopp continued to reuse his young stars, and the class of 'Red Boys' didn't let him down, with two 18-year-olds, Danns and Gumas, arranging three goals, and Gopp said after the match that Liverpool's future future is 'not so bad'!
Liverpool have sent a number of "kids" to the EFL Cup final, and there are seven youth players in the starting lineup, including 18-year-old striker Thomas Goumas, who is making his debut. Early on, the 'Reds' were back in the game and after 44 minutes, Goumas had a shot on goal that bounced in from the province. 63 minutes later, Goumas was replaced by another 18 year old starlet, Danns. 73 minutes later, he scored twice in 88 minutes to help Liverpool to a 3-0 win. The top 8 of the English soccer team will be the guests of Manchester United.
After the game, Gopp was full of praise for the group of young players and urged fans not to blindly buy stars:¡°They have a lot to learn, but everyone gets a chance, and with the team depending on the family (injuries), their chances are more than expected. All the young players in the class are super-talented and it's not uncommon for 18-year-olds to play very quietly. Liverpool's future looks bleak! When the transfer window starts, I hope the fans don't forget about them and don't think about signing 12 players to cut their lives short."
