Anders Penrina was officially transferred from Manchester United to Fulham in July 2022 and was reborn. According to The Sun, the Belgian national team manager Tedesco was interested in recruiting the Brazilian-born player to play in the final week of the UEFA Europa League, but Anders Penrina refused to do so because he had not yet given up his dream of donning the 'Samba shirt' again.

Born in Belgium to a Brazilian father and a mother of German descent, Anders Penrina has lived and trained in Europe since his birth, playing for Belgium's U15 to U17 juniors until 2014, when he decided to "come back to the family" to represent Brazil's U20s and help the team finish as runners-up at the 2015 World Youth Cup.

Pangliona became the first foreign-born player to play for the Brazilian national team in more than 100 years when he was promoted to Brazil's national team in 2018 and played in a warm-up match against El Salvador, which is of great historical significance. However, the match was the only time Anders Penrina has played for Brazil so far, and according to FIFA regulations, a player who only plays warm-up matches can "transfer" to represent another national team, which is why Tadasco took notice and invited Anders Penrina to play for Belgium, his birthplace.

However, Anders Penrina has rejected Tadisco's goodwill, he said in an interview with the Brazilian media, "They (Belgian FA) contacted me at the beginning of the season, and they also contacted my manager and asked me if I was willing to accept the call-up, and my answer was very clear, I'm a Brazilian, and my dream is to represent the Brazilian team, and nothing can change my mind. Anders Penrina is already 28 years old, and it is not known when Brazil will re-call him, so it is unlikely that he will have a chance to play in international matches after giving up representing Belgium.
