Kilian McBarbie's move to Real Madrid seems to have a happy ending, as Real Madrid's authoritative media outlet Marca broke the news, stating that the two sides have signed a contract to officially join the club on July 1. The contract is reportedly for five years, with an annual salary of between 15 and 20 million euros after tax (about HK$126 million to HK$168 million) plus bonuses.

Marca has been following up on the deal between Real Madrid and McBarbee, reporting that the two sides signed a deal two weeks ago, and reporter Ramon Alvarez de Mon has recently confirmed the news, stating that "McBarbee has signed with Real Madrid". According to French media outlet Soccer Market, Real Madrid will provide McBarbee with the No. 10 jersey, and the current owner of the No. 10, Modric, will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

"Transfer expert Romano further confirmed that McBarbee had received a contract offer from Real Madrid on lower terms than the 2022 deal. In order to join Real Madrid, McBarbee has decided to give up his 72 million euro annual salary at Paris Saint-Germain and take a significant pay cut.
