The French winger
Lauriente, capital of Slovenia (Tw)
.. Marseille boss De Zerbi sees Laurient as an ideal target for reinforcements, with the club looking to bring in the 25-year-old winger on a rent-and-buy deal.
According to Pedulla's sources, Marseille's proposal was to start with a loan for Lauriente and trigger a mandatory buyout clause after Marseille earn their first points next February for €12 million plus bonuses. However, Sassuolo's asking price is a €16 million transfer fee plus €2 million in bonuses. The two clubs are still negotiating on the transfer fee.
Lauriente made 37 appearances for Sassuolo last season, contributing 5 goals and 4 assists. Due to Sassuolo's relegation from Serie A last season, Lauriente is not willing to continue playing in Serie B. He is eager to complete a transfer this summer in order to continue to show his strength in the top league. Marseille's bid is based on this background, and whether the two sides can reach an agreement will determine Lauriente's future destination.
