2023 European Qualifiers
rules and regulations
The 53 teams participating in the UEFA European Championships are divided into 12 groups of 4-5 teams each and compete in a double round-robin system of home and away matches, with the top two teams in their respective groups qualifying for the UEFA EURO 2024 final round. The top two teams from each group qualify for the final round of UEFA EURO 2024.The 2023 UEFA Europa League rules are set to see some major rule changes that will have a far-reaching impact on the competition, for reasons that are well known.
Firstly, the number of teams in each group is not standardized, so each group opens its matches at a different time, with groups with five teams starting their qualifying matches in March 2023, and the European qualifiers starting in June 2023 if the schedule clashes with the UEFA competition. The group with four teams will start the European qualifiers in September 2023, while the group with four teams will start the European qualifiers in September 2023.
Secondly, the grouping of each team in the qualifying rounds is based on the results of the grouping given at the draw ceremony in Frankfurt, Germany on October 9, 2022. The reforms that UEFA and FIFA are committed to promoting, which will give each UEFA-affiliated team more chances to participate in the final rounds of the UEFA EURO 2023, could further increase the tension and suspense of the tournament, and will also make it a fairer tournament, as the results of each match will directly affect the ranking of the teams. The outcome of each match will have a direct impact on the team's ranking.
Finally, for reasons well known to all, the Russian men's soccer team will not be able to compete in the 2023 UEFA European Qualifiers and the final round of the Euro 2024 in Germany, which shows that peace is still a very important basic condition for the smooth running of the sport of soccer.
It is understood that Euro 2024 in Germany will take place in 10 cities within Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024 GMT, to determine the 2 teams that will advance to the final at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
