Drawing Rules

The 32 teams are divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each and follow the principle of different groups for each continent except Europe. After six windows of Men's Basketball World Cup qualifying matches, all 32 places in the tournament were filled. The last place was won by Serbia, Argentina's men's basketball team is the first time in 41 years without the Men's Basketball World Cup (and its predecessor, the World Championships), while four teams (including: South Sudan, Latvia, Georgia and Cape Verde) is the team's history of the first time to go to the Men's Basketball World Cup.

According to FIFA's group draw rules for the 2023 Men's Basketball World Cup, the 2023 Men's Basketball World Cup is divided into eight groups of four teams each, and the group draw rules include the following:

First, Groups A, B, C and D will have one team each in the first, fourth, fifth and eighth slots, while Groups E, F, G and H will have one team each in the second, third, sixth and seventh slots. The classification and geographic location of the teams will be the key basis for the groupings.

The second is to follow the principle of different groups of teams from other continents except Europe, that is to say, in addition to the European teams can be in the same group, the teams from other continents in the group stage of the World Cup are not in the same group, so as to ensure that the overall strength of each group is balanced.

Asia-Pacific 8 teams: China, Australia, New Zealand, Lebanon, Jordan, Japan, Philippines, Iran (including 2 host teams);

7 teams in the Americas: USA, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Canada, Dominican Republic;

Europe 12 teams: Finland, France, Spain, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Serbia;
