Wolves are definitely one of the brightest spots this season. I think Gallionier has done a great job so far, as evidenced by the fact that they are now tied with Newcastle in the table, and are only a few points behind Chelsea, Brighton and their opponent Man U. If they win this game, they can overtake Man U in the table.
While much of Wolves' success depends on O'Neill's style of play and the level of play he creates, a more important factor is their excellent home form. Their home ground, the Stadio Molinas, has become a nightmare for many teams this season, and they are unbeaten in 10 games at home, with their last home loss coming against Liverpool in September last year. In their last 10 home games, they have scored 17 goals and conceded only 9, showing how much their home power has contributed to their success so far this season.
Wong Hee Chan is out for the Asian Cup, but it doesn't seem to have affected Wolves too much as they are undefeated in their last 7 matches, while Mathias Guernsey has scored 3 goals in his last 5 matches. I mentioned at the beginning of the season how important this valuable forward is to Wolves, and I'm very happy with his performance so far.
On the other hand, it would be an understatement to say that Manchester United is the most nervous team this season. Although they have a few good victories, such as against Newport County in the EFL Cup and Wigan in the last round. However, they failed to win their last two EPL matches, and now they are facing a tricky match against Wolves, who are in good form.
In addition, the never-ending off-field gossip has once again become relevant to the Red Devils, this time featuring Rashford, while the on-field news seems to focus on the lackluster performances of United's attacking players on the field. The likes of Bono Fernandez, Helen, Anthony Mathias, Mason Monty and Anthony Martial were not up to the standard we have come to expect from United's attacking players. Youngster Alejandro Canazo is the only player who has really made an impact this season.
The fact that 5 goals for McTomini would be enough to be United's top scorer in the league this season completely reflects the above point, even more so as McTomini hasn't scored in 9 matches! While I realize that the likes of Helen and Gonzo Fernandes have contributed a lot in Europe, United will have to carry their European form into the league if they want to qualify for Europe again.
