The European Football Association (EFA) is in dispute again, the technical director Boban recently resigned in protest of the EFA president Schieffelin's amendment to the statute to remain in office until 2031, which is not only no progress, but also a major step backward.

The New York Times reported that Schieffelin's recent push to amend the UEFA statutes so that he could be re-elected until 2031 ran counter to the reforms he had initially proposed and was criticized, and Boban protested by resigning in protest, with the UEFA officially confirming that, by mutual consent, Boban would be leaving the UEFA.

Boban was extremely unhappy with Schieffelin's move, saying: "Despite my concerns and strong objections, the UEFA president feels that there is no legal problem with amending the statutes, let alone a moral or ethical problem. The irony is that he proposed a series of reforms in 2017 to prevent this possibility, and he won a lot of appreciation that year, but he has deviated from these values."
