After selling Moses Scarlet to Chelsea, Brighton will have a new player in Lille's 19-year-old Cameroonian midfielder Balepa. Lille reportedly knows that Brighton has the money to pay, and has raised the transfer fee to 25 million pounds (about 247 million Hong Kong dollars).
Transfer expert Romano reports that Varela has undergone a medical at Bradenton and a deal is close to completion for a £25 million transfer fee on a five-year deal until 2028, with a one-year extension clause.
Balepa joined Lille last season and posted two assists in 23 games, but he is only worth 5 million euros (about HK$42.5 million) in Germany's Transfermarkt.
