As the Women's World Cup, which is being held in Australia and New Zealand, draws to a close, breaking ticket and attendance records and creating a women's soccer frenzy, Football Federation of Australia (FFA) Chief Executive James Johnson has said that he will seriously consider applying to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
More than 1.5 million tickets were sold and more than 1.8 million people attended this year's Women's World Cup, with an average attendance of nearly 30,000. The unprecedented success of the tournament, including Australia's historic run to the quarterfinals and England and Spain's historic run to the finals, has led to the Football Association of Australia (FAA) considering bidding to host the 2034 Men's World Cup.
After hosting one of the best women's World Cups ever, the door is open for us to seriously consider bidding to host the 2034 World Cup," said James Johnson.
