Although Colombia is the lowest ranked team in the FIFA World Rankings among the top 8 teams in this year's Women's World Cup, I think they will give England a hard time.
The South American side struggled against Jamaica, who have not conceded a single goal in this year's tournament, in the Round of 16, and finally managed to advance with a 1-0 win thanks to a brilliant goal from captain Usami.
I believe that the 18 year old Linda Castro, together with Liz Sandoz and the good player Mina Ramirez, will be Colombia's strongest point in the forward line. They link up well and are able to break through with their speed and individual skills, so England's Millie Bradley, Alex Glenwood and the other defenders will have to be wary of this dangerous attacking triangle.
Another 18-year-old, Ana Guswyn, also played well in the defense, and it was a well-timed cross from the left wing that led to Usami's winning goal and the team's first ever Women's World Cup Round of 8 appearance.
I'm sure England learned a valuable lesson from their narrow 12-yard victory over Nigeria. For me, Nigeria was the better team, but England showed indomitable solidarity, and with more experience in big games, they made it to the championship, which is a sign of a champion team.
Lauren James was sent off after receiving a red card against Nigeria last time out and is suspended for this match, so I'm very interested to see if coach Vivian will continue to play a 3-5-2 formation or switch to a 4-3-3!
I have a feeling that Keeley will be taking over from Lauren James and will be joined by Alexia Russo and Lauren Hamp. Rachel Daly is another attacking player who can be a threat on the left side of the field, but she will also have to play an important role in defense to prevent Colombia from getting a shot on goal.
